MEET THE OWNER
Hi, I’m Jos—licensed cosmetologist, braider, educator, and founder of J Unique’z Beauti Bar LLC. My journey in the beauty industry is rooted in passion, purpose, and perseverance. I’ve been braiding for over 18 years and professionally licensed for 6 years.
My love for hair began early, leading me to study cosmetology during high school. Although I graduated in 2011 and completed my hours at Tennessee Technology Center, I faced repeated setbacks with the licensing exam. Discouraged but never defeated, I stepped away—yet the passion never left me.
Through years of prayer and reflection, I came to understand that God had given me a gift I couldn’t ignore. Seven years later, I returned to cosmetology with a renewed mindset. I taught myself everything all over again, and after months of dedicated study, I passed my exams on the first try and received my full cosmetology license in July 2019.
Today, I not only serve clients—I educate others on healthy hair growth, mentor aspiring stylists, and help individuals rebuild confidence in themselves. My mission goes beyond styling; it’s about healing from the inside out and reminding people that their setbacks don’t define them.
Delay does not mean denial. I turned my journey into purpose—and now I empower others to do the same.
From Passion to Purpose: The Journey of J Unique’z Beauti Bar
J Unique’z Beauti Bar was established in August of 2019 and officially opened its doors for business in November of that same year. Founder Jos launched the salon while still working full-time at First Horizon Bank, balancing her passion with her professional career.
In 2021, she took a bold leap of faith—resigning from her corporate job to pursue her dream full time. From that moment, J Unique’z Beauti Bar became a fully operational salon, offering high-quality hair care services with a focus on healthy hair growth and protective styles.
That same year, Jos expanded her brand by formulating an organic hair care line—designed to support natural hair restoration and maintenance. What began as a solo venture quickly grew into a thriving business rooted in purpose, community, and transformation.
Today, J Unique’z Beauti Bar continues to grow, serving clients with excellence while empowering individuals through education, mentorship, and confidence-building experiences.
